Last year, I made the decision to go back to school and pursue a master’s degree. I know, I know - why would I do that at a time when the value of school education is being questioned? Well, I have my reasons, I might talk more about them later, but one of the things I’ve quickly picked up on is that academic curriculums designed purely on the principle of ‘Knowledge sharing’ will be doing nothing more than today’s average chatbot. The golden path for effective, relevant and applicable learning needs to be redesigned. In a world where possessing knowledge on any domain is just a prompt away, how should students think about learning, proficiency and skill mastery?
Why it matters
Pleading with students to not use AI … narh! That won’t work and frankly speaking, that shouldn’t be what we ask of or expect from students driven by curiosity.
